Did Jens Soering murder his girlfriend's parents in 1985 — or was she the killer? This docuseries digs into questions that still swirl around the case.

On March 30, 1985, Elizabeth Haysom’s parents, Derek and Nancy Haysom, were brutally murdered. A young German expat named Jens Soering later confessed to — and was convicted of — the murders. His girlfriend, Elizabeth, was charged as an accessory. But when Soering recanted his confession on the stand, the trial became a high-profile case of he said, she said. Was Soering really the killer, or was he taking the fall for his girlfriend? Till Murder Do Us Part: Soering vs. Haysom investigates the controversies surrounding the Haysom case and what’s happened since. Our true-crime mini series TIL MURDER DO US PART - Soering vs. Haysom“ has been launched worldwide on Netflix on nov., 1st. The show has had about 15 million views and was globally the 2nd most popular show on Netflix worldwide, being #1 in 14 and within the top ten in 65 countries.

“It rarely or never happens that a documentary series produced in Germany storms the English-language Netflix charts. This was achieved last fall with „Till murder Do us part -  Soering vs. Haysom". The real-life story of the German double murderer, who makes a media career as a victim of justice after 30 years in US prison, immediately landed globally in second place. For the German Director of non-fiction at Netflix in Berlin, Wiebke Schodder, this was a nice reassurance that her investments in this genre are paying off: True Crime is very "travel-friendly", she said. Translated, that means: "Death streams well, worldwide.“

"This production does not make it easy for itself. With such a complex case, which has become more and more extensive over many decades of legal proceedings, one tends to judge it by sympathy: Who are you more likely to believe? The talkative German or the cool-headed woman from Canada? Reading and evaluating all the information in the case is hard work, but judging a person is easy at first. But the Jens Söring case does not allow us to judge easily. For every version presented by Jens or Elizabeth, the counter-arguments are also presented."
